We flew to the Bay to attend AWE USA 2018 and a range of exciting customers and investors meetings.
In the end of May, our CEO, Darran Milne, and Head of Commercial, Aleksandra Pedraszewska, flew to the Bay to attend AWE USA 2018 and a range of exciting customers and investors meetings, including Google and Digi-Capital Reality Network meeting for AR/VR/XR Leaders.
Augmented World Expo USA is the world’s number one AR and VR expo and conference, held in Santa Clara, California. AWE 2018 attracted over 400 speakers who tackled topics related to everything XR. The accommodation-convergence problem, solved by VividQ with its full-depth holographic solutions, has been repeatedly raised as the key blocker to the wider commercialisation of AR technologies today. AWE is the place to be for everyone contributing towards future display solutions and we are thrilled that VividQ’s products, providing the first complete software framework for holographic 3D displays, found their best audience there.
The event hosted a wide variety of companies: over 250 exhibitors were present, bringing with them the latest XR technologies. VividQ was proudly exhibiting as part of the British Pavilion sponsored by the Department of International Trade, alongside key players in the field from the UK. We have been extremely pleased with the amount of interest in our solutions, both from the leading hardware and embedded systems manufacturers from the US and Asia. Indeed, at our booth we did not have a second of rest! There is no doubt that a number of next generation headsets and standalone 3D displays will be based upon holographic solutions provided by VividQ.
We are also thrilled to announce that an article written by our CEO, Darran, was published on AWE blog. The article, entitled: "Holography. A New Frontier in Augmented Reality", discusses how holographic display technology will open the door to a new generation of augmented reality devices offering an unprecedented level of realism and immersion over the next years.
